Fantasy Baseball Rankings: 2nd base

You can uncharacteristically grab 15-25 home runs from the 2nd base position this year. My advice: Don't be lured by this. Use your middle infield position for a speedster. BJ Upton (2nd base eligible for one more year) may be Hanley Ramirez in the making, Brandon Philips has arrived... and Robinson Cano is solid, below that... much disparity between teers 2 and 3. Wait for Brian Roberts (50 sb's), Kaz Matsui (32 sb's) or Ian Kinsler (23 sb's) .

1 Chase Utley
2 Brandon Philips
3 BJ Upton
4 Brian Roberts
5 Robinson Cano
6 Ian Kinsler
7 Dan Uggla
8 Howie Kendrick
9 Aaron Hill
10 Kaz Matsui
11 Placido Polanco
12 Rickie Weeks
13 Jeff Kent
14 Dustin Pedrioa
15 Orlando Hudson

First Base Rankings

First base is a deep position. Ideally, you'd love to grab one of the elite first basemen and pencil in a .300 + avg. 40 home runs and 120 RBI's. Actually, I advise that you grab one of the top four in the first two rounds. But don't panic if you let them slip away. You can get Ryan Garko on a bargain price in the middle rounds. He's bound to improve on his .289 avg 21 hr 61 rbi now that he's entering the season as the starting first baseman.

Rankings

1 Albert Pujols
2 Ryan Howard
3 Prince Fielder
4 Mark Teixiera
5 Lance Berkman
6 Victor Martinez
7 Justin Morneau
8 Carlos Guillen
9 Carlos Pena
10 Derek Lee
11 Adrian Gonzalez
12 Paul Konerko
13 Nick Swisher
14 Todd Helton
15 Ryan Garko

Fantasy Basbeball 2008 Strategy

It's a week before your fantasy baseball draft and you stop by the local magazine stand to pick up a strategy guide that will help you win your league this year. Problem is, there about ten to fifteen different guides and they all promise to be the very best. as you parouse each you find that each one has a different player ranking from the next. Which is right? The answer is easy, all of them. None of them. Regardless of who has Hanley Ramirez ranked No. 2 ahead of powerhouse Pujols, it's really the draft strategy that will win you the league come draft day. Ahead, I will lay out my strategy... and each week, day, game, i'll update this blog so you'll be able to see how great this strategy really was. Each day leading up to my leagues draft i'll post positional player rankings along with my overall top 200 players. Feel free to email questions, suggestions, trade proposal reviews etc.
